How to use Game Bar on Windows to Screen Record

This is how you record on Windows 10 with the Game bar. You'll need to set up the Windows Game Bar if you haven't already. Follow these steps once you have it set up.

1. Next, open the program or app you wish to record.Windows + GClick on the keyboard. This will open the Game bar overlay.

2. You'll find several widgets in the Gamebar overlay.Capture?Audio?PerformanceMaybe?Xbox Social. You can also find a main toolbar at top of screen that corresponds to these widgets.

3. Click the button to capture your screenRecordClick the buttonCaptureWidget

4. The recorder appears in upper right corner of the page once the recording begins. To view the recording time, click theStopYou can also use the button (a blue circle with a square in its center) to control your microphone.

Limitations on Windows 10's Game Bar

You can easily record your screen with Windows 10's Game bar. However, there are some caveats.

• Some applications, such as File Manager, cannot be captured with the Game bar.
• It is not possible to capture your desktop. You must be taking screenshots of an app.
• You won't see another window if you capture it while you are recording. But, the cursor movement will show it.
• Apps can be downloaded from the Windows Store, or you can use existing apps on your computer.

How to screen capture in Windows 10 using PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint may be better if you want to capture your desktop and multiple windows. It is faster to set up than the Game bar and offers more versatility.

1. Go to Powerpoint, open a new presentation and click on the "Open" button.Insert>Screen recording.

2. Your desktop will be displayed and the PowerPoint presentation will shrink. Click here if you do not get prompts to choose the area that you wish to record.Select AreaDrag your cursor to the area you wish to record. The area you wish to record is marked with a red, dashed box.

3. After you have set the area, clickAudioTo turn on or off the audioRecord PointerYou can capture the pointer (or not) as you move around your screen. Once you are satisfied with the setting, clickRecord.

4. After a short countdown, your recording will go live. You may also see the control panel that controls your recording disappear. The control box for your recording will be re-appear if you move your cursor to the top or middle of the screen.

5. You can choose to pause or stop a recording by selecting the appropriate optionPauseOrStopFrom the Recording menu.

6. After you have stopped the recording, PowerPoint will take you back to PowerPoint and the recording will be inserted into the slide that you selected. Right-click the recording to save it to your computer.Save MediaFrom the menu.

7. Navigate to the location you wish to save the file, then clickSave.

This works well for Citrix's old program, as Citrix may not have updated it to make it compatible with Windows 10. Citrix is a well-respected company and this rarely happens with the program. Windows has a compatibility mode tool that allows you to run the software if it was working fine in previous editions. These are the steps:

1. Right-click on the shortcut to the software on the desktop, and choose -Properties.
2. Click -Compatibility.
3. Before you check the box,This program can be run in compatibility mode.
4. Select the edition that the program worked without displaying an error code from the dropdown.
5. You can check the option -As an administrator, run this program.
6. ClickApplyAnd thenOK.
7. Launch the application again and check if the problem persists.

Twitter has new bookmarks that will allow you to categorize your saved tweets.

 For those who save lots of tweets, this will be a welcome development.

Jane Manchun Wong is a reverse engineer expert and has posted a new discovery that Twitter is developing a new folders option in the Bookmarks tab. This would allow users to save tweets to a variety of categories or 'Collections' as Twitter calls them.

The new process will allow you to create category folders in your Bookmarks tab, as you can see. The new process would allow you to select which collection or folder you want to save tweets to when you bookmark them in-stream (last image above).

That could provide a handy way to keep tabs on various tweets of interest - while it could also point to the platform's gradually evolving eCommerce tools, with the folders providing another way to keep track of products that you may be interested in, helping to maximize shopping behavior.

At its recent Analyst Day overview, Twitter provided a basic update on its in-development eCommerce tools, with Twitter's Revenue Product Lead Bruce Falck explaining that:

We know that people use Twitter to connect with brands and talk about their favorite products. You may even have seen some businesses using our platform to generate sales. This demand is a sign of confidence in our ability to combine real-time communication with an engaged, intentional audience. Imagine being able to quickly find and purchase a trendy sneaker or skincare product from a brand that you follow in just a few clicks. "

This could be similar to Instagram's Collections option or saved pins on Pinterest. This basically turns the option into an online shopping list. The ability to move each saved tweet into a specific group could also enhance this functionality.

This seems to be a simple and effective way of increasing engagement with saved tweets. Twitter should have added this feature sooner. It seems that it is on the right track, as Wong posted a design sample.

These screenshots also show the Spaces tab at the bottom of the function bar. Wong posted about it back in March. This also seems set for a larger launch, considering the wider expansion of Spaces to other users earlier in the month.

This will make Spaces more discoverable. Twitter will also be looking to implement algorithmic matching to ensure that the most relevant Spaces are highlighted for users in this tab.

It seems probable that both features will be available very soon. We will keep you informed about any developments.

5. Enter the URLFor your website.

After the account is created, Google will begin recording all activity on your site. It may take up to 24 hours for data to be visible in your account.

 Grammarly is my favorite Chrome extension to improve my writing.

All the power of Grammarly is built into Chrome. It works with all of the apps I use, including Gmail, Google Docs and WordPress.

Grammarly detects my mistakes when I create or edit text in my browser. There's a good reason why it's one of the most popular Chrome extensions in the world.

Grammarly offers a free forever version. A Premium plan costs $139 per annum or $29.95 per monthly. Premium Grammarly accounts get you access to the Chrome extension, which offers enhanced functionality.

How to install Grammarly on Chrome

Grammarly is available for Chrome as an extension from the Chrome Web Store. Click "Add to Chrome"

Grammarly will download the extension and take you directly into its onboarding flow. This takes you to a welcome page, where you can click through Gmail to start writing an email.

The Grammarly logo will be displayed in the bottom left corner of any new message you are writing. The Grammarly logo will display next to your writing, each error underlined. By hovering your mouse over the errors, you can get suggestions on how to fix them.

What does Grammarly for Chrome do exactly?

Grammarly uses artificial intelligence to detect errors in writing and provides solutions. These include:

• Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and spelling:It detects all common mistakes, just like any spellchecker.
• Useful or confusing sentencesGrammarly flags complex sentences that are too long to be understood.
• ToneGmail automatically detects tones and activates them when your email exceeds 121 characters.

Chrome: How to Use Grammarly

Grammarly's main application is accessible via browsers. The app allows you to type, copy, and paste text and receive feedback within the same window.

Chrome Extension brings this experience to the web. It will catch your mistakes as you type, no matter where you are (as long you're using Chrome).

After installing the extension, you can click the Grammarly "G” favicon on Chrome's extensions bar to open its options. This should be what you see:

You may have to sign in if you don't see the link. To sign in with your email address, Google or Facebook, follow the link in the extension window. A password will be required. To secure it, use Chrome's password manager if you're not using a more powerful, third-party tool.

Once you are confident, you can start writing on any website.

Grammarly will highlight flaws in your writing in red when it detects them. You can hover over the flaws to find out what Grammarly has to say about it and how you can fix it. Grammarly keeps its colors the same across websites and whatever theme you're using, so if you're planning to get a lot of use out of it, consider choosing a theme that keeps those colors visible.

Grammar and spelling errors are often easy to correct: simply click on the solution in the popup below the word or phrase, and the substitution will be made automatically.

Grammarly can also show you synonyms, words with the same meaning, to help improve your writing. Double-clicking any word will bring up a list with alternative spellings.

You can also reverse the functionality by double-clicking on any word when you browse the internet with Grammarly enabled. This will allow you to view its definition.

This is how Grammarly works across the web. Gmail also has an additional tool currently in beta. A yellow emoji, which denotes an emotional tone, will be next to the Grammarly icons. Click it to see Grammarly's thoughts on how your message is received by readers.

Grammarly in Google Docs:

Grammarly launched beta support for Docs on October 2018. You can access it through the Chrome browser extension, so it's only available in Chrome.

After you have enabled and installed the Chrome extension, you can open a Doc to access Grammarly. Grammarly works in Docs the same way as on the rest. Grammarly will highlight words and phrases it thinks are wrong in red. To see the suggested fixes, click on them. To see a list synonyms, double-click any word.

Grammarly for Chrome isn’t yet stable and many users have reported problems getting it working. It can interfere with Docs' spellchecker, so it is best to use Docs for writing and then check your text in Grammarly.

Use Grammarly to Chrome on Medium

Since September 2018, Grammarly supports Medium. Grammarly supports Medium since September 2018. You can also access premium features such as advanced tone checking and paragraphing.

Where Grammarly for Chrome struggles

Grammarly for Chrome is an excellent tool. It's not perfect, and sometimes it fails.

The Chrome extension is only available in English and doesn't always understand non-standard English vocabulary. It will sometimes misspell common acronyms, company names and technical terms such as ebook. This is why the draft of this post has been underlined in red. Grammarly will flag false positives but it won't allow you to insert hyperlinks unless the Grammarly alert is addressed. This will result in hyperlinks that don't include the relevant word.

Manually correcting errors is also difficult. Grammarly was not designed to allow users to manually correct errors. It can sometimes glitch and move the cursor halfway through deletion, making it harder to clean up a page.

Grammarly's recommendations may not be 100% reliable, especially with its Chrome extension. It doesn't catch all errors either. This sentence passed with flying colors.

Grammarly detected "weak and uncertain language" but not crazy grammar. Grammarly's web application approved the same sentence. This was rated "very clear" by the Chrome extension.

The solution was correct. The problem with the "you're/yours" mix-up was flagged. However, the solution proposed isn't any better.

There will also be hyphenation problems. Grammarly will treat any phrase such as "ten years old" like it should be hyphenated. This is not always true. You might also find it a bit comma-happy.

Troubleshooting Grammarly in Chrome

These fixes will fix the problem if you don't see the Grammarly logo in your online text or any corrections, even after installing the extension.

Try closing Chrome and reopening it. This will resolve many issues with extensions. This will resolve most problems with Grammarly extensions that you have just enabled or installed.

Sometimes, the extension may not be enabled after it is installed. Go tochrome://extensionsFind Grammarly and verify that it is enabled.

If this is the case, you may need to log into to access all features. This includes the ability to extend the extension on all sites.

Log in to Grammarly by clicking the "G" icon in your extension bar, and then selecting "login".

A Grammarly account gives you the ability to edit and enter longer texts. It might be worth it to get the best experience.

How to save ‘WhatsApp Status’ images and videos

 WhatsApp officially launched the status feature in February. The feature allows users to share photos, videos and GIFs, which automatically disappear after 24 hours. Users and experts around the world called it a "clone of Snapchat Stories". However, users are slowly embracing the feature and it is becoming more popular.

WhatsApp status updates are perishable in nature. WhatsApp doesn't offer an official way to save these status updates. While some users may take screenshots to save image statuses, what about videos? Even screenshots don't preserve the image at the same quality it is on WhatsApp. What is the best way of saving statuses? Let's see...

Save/Copy WhatsApp Status Photos and Videos

You can save your WhatsApp Statuses in two ways. First, you can use a dedicated app. If you have to save image statuses frequently, you can use the manual method. These two options are described in detail below.

Use File Manager to save status files manually

WhatsApp saves status files (photos/videos), locally on your phone. These files are deleted after 24 hours. You can copy the files from the temporary folder to another location. Here's how to do it:

Notice:To do this, you will need the File Manager app. It is installed as default on most phones, including those from Samsung, LG and Sony, Xiaomi, and OnePlus. It can be found by searching for the app "Files" and "File Manager". You can also download it if there is none, such as on Nokia Android phones.Solid Explorer or ES File Explorer.

1. Save the status you wish to view. This will create a temporary copy on your phone's storage.
2. Open your File Manager app - Files, File Manager, Solid Explorer; etc.
3. You can enable "show hidden files". This is done by opening the file manager settings and setting it to hide hidden files. Solid Explorer users can follow this guide to enable hidden files.
4. Navigate to the WhatsApp folder Internal storage WhatsApp > Media > Statuses.
5. Save the photos/videos you like.
6. Copy them and paste them in a new folder.

That's all! You can store the copied photos and videos forever. These photos and videos can be accessed later by opening the folder from which they were copied.

Use a dedicated app to save status files

To save your friend's WhatsApp Status, you can use a third-party app. The app will automatically gather all statuses you've seen and organize them.

1. Open WhatsApp to view the statuses you want to save/download.
2. Install Status Savings from Play Store on Android. To open it in your browser/Play Store, you can click the link below.
   Download Status Saver from Play Store
   Allow the app access to photos, media, and files stored on your device. This is how the app can access your storage to collect WhatsApp Status photos.
3. Click on the Save icon () to select the images and videos you wish to save.
4. Photos and videos you save to your phone's internal storage will be saved.

That's all! This will save your friend's WhatsApp status/story forever.

All saved statuses can be accessed from within the app. You can access the folder by opening File Manager and browsing to Internal storage > status Saver.
